5 Cheap Things to do this Autumn

I love Autumn but when the weather gets colder and you can no longer spend as much time outside for free we need some more cute ideas to keep us busy. If you have your budget in mind then here are some inexpensive things to do this Autumn.

1. Build a Den

I don't know about you but my Partner and I are big kids and we love an excuse to act like ones. Rather than sitting on the sofa watching a film why not make it more fun, and intimate and build a fort from your bedding and snuggle up underneath and watch a movie. The pets can come in too and you can get together some Autumnal snacks.

When we build dens we go all out, the building of the den itself is the most fun part so don't consider it as the preparation for your date night but part of the date night itself.

2. Visit a Farmers Market.

I actually prefer to go to Markets in Autumn than I do in the summer. There is something about being wrapped up in knitted jumpers and a wooly hat walking around a market that makes me feel so festive. Incorporate this into your weekly or monthly shop and find some good deals. You don't even have to buy anything, just walking around looking at the stalls is so nice, just remember to keep warm.

3. Learn Something.

Autumn is the perfect time to learn something new, to create a new hobby. Something to fill the time we no longer wish to spend outdoors and something to keep us busy until we have to think of Christmas. Whether you like pottery, music or dancing, have a look at what is offered around you. I like going into quirky coffee shops and looking at their advertising board. Pick up a couple of cards and enquire. There is nothing better than being able to just focus on something you enjoy. A lot of the flyers that I see have introductory offers as well so try out something you otherwise wouldn't.

4. Baking.

Baking is the perfect Autumn activity, especially when you are having a down day. I love getting into something like Baking where it takes a lot of your concentration to put your mind off everything else. I especially love making Halloween treats.

If you are like me you will have a lot of the ingredients already in your kitchen so won't cost much to go out and get the extras and make something super delicious.

5. Bubble Bath.

Now I used to love having bubble baths. I would turn off the lights, light a candle and place my iPad on the toilet seat and watch a film or just YouTube. Now though, we no longer have a bath as we have opted just for a shower. However, I have replaced this by having a dip in my boyfriend's hot tub. It is so nice that it's outside under a little canopy in a hidden corner of the garden, I can still bring my iPad around and we can both sit in there and relax in the heat. Perfect to relax and wind down at the end of a stressful day.
